Position: Med-Surg Nurse (RN) in Greensboro, NC
Provide skilled nursing care in a dynamic medical-surgical and telemetry setting at a leading healthcare facility with a Level 1 Trauma Designation and robust academic resources. This contract opportunity is ideal for Registered Nurses with solid Med Surg experience who are ready to apply their expertise in a supportive and well-equipped environment. The unit features 20 beds split evenly between two areas and manages a diverse patient population, including medical, surgical, and transitional care cases.

Responsibilities include:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients with diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, kidney, liver, gastrointestinal, respiratory conditions, and CIWA, as well as infection and wound management.
• Perform specialized skills including tracheostomy care, chest tube management, IV starts, wound vac care, dressing changes, and central line blood draws.
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and manage non-titrating drips such as Heparin, Lasix, and Protonix. Experience with Cardizem and Amiodarone drips is preferred but not required.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team comprising CNAs, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and residents available 24/7.
• Utilize EMR systems (EPIC) and medical technology like Alaris IV pumps and Omnicell medication dispensing.
• Adhere to a  shift schedule, with weekend rotations every other week, and holiday coverage at 50% as per contractual agreement.

Qualifications:

• Active RN license with a minimum of 2 years Med Surg nursing experience.
• Certification in BLS and ACLS required.
• Proficiency in advanced nursing skills, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and non-titrating drip management.
• Ability to work within established protocols and float within the hospital scope of practice.
