Must-Have: EPIC experience, experience with critical care equipment, and comfort in high acuity environments

Description:

The unit is seeking candidates for 26-week contracts.
There may be an opportunity for 48-hour/week guarantee.
The facility has 247 licensed beds and is a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center.
It is a teaching hospital certified as a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center.
The unit has 24 beds with an average patient census of 21-23.

Candidates must have experience managing high acuity patients.
Common patient types include respiratory issues, trauma, DKA, seizures, neurosurgical cases, renal failure, orthopedic and surgical needs, transplants, and complex medical conditions.
Patient ratios may vary based on acuity, typically ranging from 1:1 to 2:1.

Required skills include:
- Management of critical care vasoactive drip titration
- Management of invasive lines such as ART lines and CVP
- Aseptic and sterile techniques
- Ventilator and trach management
- Feeding tube management
- Chest tube management
- Epidural and PCA management

Candidates should be comfortable floating to other units as necessary.
Support within the department includes healthcare tech, unit secretary, charge nurse, phlebotomy, IV team, respiratory therapists, intensivists, residents, and advanced practice providers.
