Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for night shifts requiring at least 2 years of prior ED experience, a NC or compact RN license, and EPIC EMR proficiency.
Responsibilities
• Work in a combined Adult and Pediatric Emergency Department within an ambulatory setting
• 3x12 hour night shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am
• Patient ratios are 1:4 with 18 beds and an average daily census of 75
• Float required between all system campuses as needed
• Holiday and every other weekend shifts required
• Use of EPIC EMR is mandatory
• Duties include triage, managing and interpreting cardiac rhythms, and care for both adult and pediatric emergency cases
• All travelers should be prepared to float across system campuses as operationally needed
• Module-based orientation is required and completed on unit during orientation period
• First time travelers are welcome to apply
• Holiday coverage is required as scheduled
• Strict attendance policy enforced with zero tolerance for tardiness and unexcused absences
• Scrub/dress code details will be provided during onboarding
Requirements
• Active RN license in NC or compact state required at time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years recent Emergency Department RN experience required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS; TNCC preferred
• Proven experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Skill in phlebotomy, IV starts, and triage required
• Previous Charge RN experience preferred
• Experience working with EPIC EMR required
• All candidates must successfully pass a mandatory EKG exam during compliance with two attempts allowed
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
