Position OverviewPrimary Purpose of Position
The Temporary Athletic Trainer will assist the Head Athletic Trainer with overall administration of the athletic training program. Primary responsibility is supervision and management of athletic training services for assigned sports teams. Additional responsibilities include injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation; maintaining accurate medical records and practice and game/event coverage, including travel. The selected candidate must communicate effectively with the head athletic trainer, team physicians, and coaches.
Additional duties may be assigned. 10 month appointment. Work schedule varies based on sport assignment.
The Department of Sports Medicine at North Carolina A&T State University provides student-athletes with an opportunity to participate in intercollegiate athletics safely and healthily. Our certified athletic trainers and team physicians oversee the wellness of approximately 350 student-athletes. The staff commits to personalized, comprehensive, contemporary, and effective health care focused on the student-athlete.

QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Athletic Training. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Travel required.
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, EducationMaster's Degree in Athletic Training or related field preferred.
Required License or CertificationNATABOC Certification, eligible for NC licensure.

Job may be eligible for a remote or hybrid arrangement, consistent with university and state policies. Employees generally required to reside in North Carolina within a 2-hour commuting distance of duty station.
