Primary Purpose of Position

The Temporary Athletic Trainer will assist the Head Athletic Trainer with overall administration of the athletic training program. Primary responsibility is supervision and management of athletic training services for assigned sports teams. Additional responsibilities include injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation; maintaining accurate medical records and practice and game/event coverage, including travel. The selected candidate must communicate effectively with the head athletic trainer, team physicians, and coaches.

Additional duties may be assigned. 10 month appointment. Work schedule varies based on sport assignment.

The Department of Sports Medicine at North Carolina A&T State University provides student-athletes with an opportunity to participate in intercollegiate athletics safely and healthily. Our certified athletic trainers and team physicians oversee the wellness of approximately 350 student-athletes. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Athletic Training. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Travel required.

Master's Degree in Athletic Training or related field preferred.

NATABOC Certification, eligible for NC licensure.
