Responsibilities- The Supervisor RN coordinates, supervises and is accountable for the daily activities of the Nursing Department. As a Supervisor RN, you are responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and coordinating patient care from admission to discharge.
- The Supervisor RN is responsible for assisting with the achievement of patient outcomes through implementation of critical pathways and in accordance with the mission of the hospital.
- Responsibilities:
- Assesses, plans, evaluates, and ensures the implementation of the patient's pathway to achieve identified outcomes.
- Assumes a leadership role in the provision of quality nursing care for patients receiving services within the nursing department.
- Decisions are guided by policies, procedures, and business plan.
- Demonstrates continued competence in assessing, treating, and caring for individuals based upon age-specific needs utilizing a developmental perspective.
- Demonstrates appropriate knowledge and competence of designated skills identified for position.
- Identifies and resolves operational problems using defined processes, expertise, and judgment. Decisions are most likely to impact individual employees and/or patients.
- Supervises the smooth functioning of the unit on assigned shift while coordinating with the Mgr Nursing and/or Dir Nursing.
- Coordinates work activities with other supervisors.
- Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion. Develops plans to meet short-term objectives.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Current Licensure in the State
- Successful completion of Basic Cardiac Life Support Course
- CNOR preferred
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing and/or BSN;
Master’s degree in Nursing/Management preferred - 5+ years of relevant experience including 1–2 years as a supervisor
