Slitter/Rewinder Operator

Location:

Greensboro, NC

Shift: Train on 1st shift then move to 2nd shift

Pay: $17.30 + $1.00 Shift Diff. once moved to 2nd shift.

• Set up cutting blades in the correct combination of sizes
• Load paper rolls into the machine using an automatic lift
• Operate overhead crane to lift rolls when required
• Cut carton cores using the core cutter machine
• Lift winding bar and load it with carton cores
• Thread paper through the machine
• Start, supervise, and regulate machine speed and pressure
• Complete all required production logs accurately
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
• Perform additional duties as assigned

• Ability to read a ruler accurately
• Must be able to operate a clamp truck
• Ability to work overtime as needed, including Saturdays and holidays
• Ability to stand for periods of up to 60 minutes
• Ability to lift 2–10 lbs continuously and up to 50 lbs occasionally
• Must wear required PPE and adhere to all safety rules

• Non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment
• Exposure to airborne dust, non-toxic/nuisance odors, moving mechanical parts, and high noise levels
• Hot/humid conditions during summer months
• PPE required: hearing protection, safety footwear, eye protection

• Regular standing, walking, reaching, and use of hands
• Regular communication and listening
• Occasional lifting/moving of up to 50 lbs
