As the Sr. EHS Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the overarching EHS strategy for Gilbarco, Greensboro North America. Your primary responsibility will be to provide strategic leadership in developing and implementing comprehensive EHS programs, ensuring alignment with business objectives, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
From driving a proactive safety culture to overseeing incident investigations and emergency preparedness, you will be instrumental in fostering a workplace that prioritizes the well-being of employees, the environment, and the sustainability of our operations. This role demands a seasoned EHS professional with a proven track record, strong leadership skills, and the ability to navigate the complexities of diverse environments. You will also work with the Sr.
Director of EHS Americas to drive best practice communication and implementation across the Vontier Organization.
- Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute a comprehensive EHS strategy aligned with the business objectives of each operating company, ensuring consistency with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to establish and communicate clear EHS goals, objectives, and performance expectations.
- Program Development and Implementation
- Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS programs across diverse manufacturing, field service, fleet and assembly operations, encompassing 4E risk assessment, hazard identification, AC4P, and mitigation strategies.
- Oversee the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs), guidelines, and training materials to ensure uniform adherence to EHS protocols.
- Regulatory Compliance and Stakeholder Engagement
- Establish and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies, industry associations, and internal stakeholders to stay abreast of evolving regulations and industry best practices.
- Provide expert guidance on navigating regulatory landscapes, ensuring all operating companies comply with applicable EHS laws and standards.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting
- Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of EHS programs.
- Regularly report on EHS performance to senior management, identifying trends, areas for improvement, and strategic recommendations.
- Incident Management and Investigation
- Lead and coordinate incident investigations, analyzing root causes and implementing corrective and preventive actions to mitigate risks and prevent reoccurrence.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of incident reporting systems and ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Emergency Preparedness and Business Continuity
- Develop, implement, and test emergency response plans and business continuity strategies, collaborating with relevant departments to ensure seamless integration.
- Conduct periodic drills and training exercises to enhance organizational readiness for emergencies.
- Collaboration and Integration
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS considerations into product design, manufacturing processes, and supply chain operations.
- Foster a culture of safety by promoting awareness, providing training, and encouraging employee engagement in EHS initiatives.
- Team Leadership
- Manage and mentor a team of EHS professionals, providing leadership, guidance, and professional development opportunities.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that values diversity, equity and inclusion and promotes a strong EHS culture.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Extensive experience 8+ years in EHS leadership roles, with a strong background in manufacturing/field service and assembly environments.
- Strong operational and commercial experience with understanding of EHS within acquisitions, risk and liability management. Must be able to view things in a very systematic and logical way.
- Highly organized and have an appreciation of the need for meticulous detail and accuracy. An ability to work under your own initiative is critical, as is the ability to prioritize multiple workloads and tasks whilst still meeting timelines.
