Primary Purpose Of The Organizational UnitElliott University Center is a department within the Division of Student Affairs. Its mission is to maintain facilities, provide services, and promote programs responsive to student developmental needs and campus community needs.
Position SummaryThe Associate Director for EUC Operations is the primary administrative contact for the Elliott University Center and manages all daily operations of the EUC facility, which hosts approximately 12,000 events and meetings annually. The position serves as the primary policy creator and evaluator for building procedures and protocol, is the first on‑call contact for emergencies, and oversees audio/visual functions, front desk student workers, and coordination with facilities staff.
The Associate Director works closely with departments housed in EUC to plan office modifications, oversees event management in the Auditorium and Cone Ballroom, and acts as the primary interface with campus community and external guests.

Key Responsibilities- Daily Operations of the Elliott University Center (EUC)
- Ensures adherence to EUC departmental guidelines around tabling, safety protocol, and resource allocation.
- Oversees reservations and installations for EUC outdoor banners.
- Provides the departmental Business Officer with the information needed for student personnel hiring and time entry each month.
- Ensures guests’ A/V needs are met by coordinating with the Manager of Technology Services.
- Acts as the primary contact for EUC events.
- Analyzes and reports EUC operations, facilities, and event management.
- Consults with University Communications and Facilities Operations to ensure proper presentation of university‑branded items.
- Creates and maintains a preventative maintenance list for carpet replacement, floor maintenance, window cleaning, painting, and related projects.
- EUC Facilities and Event Management Oversight
- Conducts daily walk‑throughs of the building and outdoor areas to address issues promptly.
- Manages work orders to University Facilities Operations for building repairs.
- Oversees necessary repairs as the EUC liaison to University Facilities Operations.
- Co‑ordinates event management in the Cone Ballroom and EUC Auditorium.
- Creates and enforces policies for customer service interactions and incident documentation.
- Develops and updates emergency protocols and provides training for medical incidents, adverse weather, active shooter, etc.
- Ensures life‑safety compliance and addresses potential hazards.
- Available via phone for on‑site student managers during evenings/weekends for large events.
- Liaison to EUC Occupants
- Plans and facilitates monthly meetings with representatives from each department housed in the EUC.
- Notifies building tenants and guests of information affecting their offices and operations.
- Consults with departments regarding special requests for office modifications and repairs.
- Special Event Management
- Plans and executes quarterly campus‑wide blood drives, managing space, marketing, student volunteers, and interface with the American Red Cross.
- Evaluates needs for special events and manages planning and setup in coordination with EUC Reservations, the Manager of Technology Services, and other areas.
- Other Duties as Needed
- Performs additional relative duties as requested by the Director and/or senior management.
- Supervises the Manager of Technology Services (1.0 FTE) and conducts weekly one‑on‑one meetings.
- Manages and modifies the 5‑year furniture/equipment replacement plan.
- Reviews and approves leave time for the Manager of Technology Services.
- Selects, trains, supervises, and evaluates student employee managers, Information Desk attendants, and Facility Managers—approximately 35 students.
- Monitors the indirect report, Coordinator of Technology Services, supervised by the Manager of Technology Services.
