Our client is seeking a qualified Field Desktop Technician to join their team based in Greensboro, NC, supporting customer sites within a 75‑mile radius. The Technician must have a reliable vehicle, a valid driver’s license, and a clean MVR. Mileage will be paid to cover transportation expenses.
Responsibilities- Diagnose mechanical, hardware, software, and systems failures using established procedures.
- Manage triage, troubleshooting, and resolution of client scope on IT equipment.
- Be familiar with various operating systems (e.g., Windows OS).
- Perform service, repair, and/or installation of computer products including system hardware, PCs, laptops, and printers.
- Follow up with end users to provide status updates per service level guidelines (SLAs).
- Document efforts, issues, and resolutions; close cases/tickets daily.
- Use Service Now to schedule work, update tickets, and resolve tickets accordingly.
- Minimum 1‑2 years of IT technical support experience.
- Hands‑on Break‑Fix and IMAC / Project experience.
- Sound understanding of customer support, operations, and processes.
- Exceptional customer service and relationship‑building competence.
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally with customers in Service Now.
- Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
- Working knowledge of Windows operating systems, networks, databases, and network‑security concepts and tools.
- CompTIA A+ certification preferred.
- CompTIA Network+ certification preferred.
The rate for this position is between $17.50 and $25.31 per hour. Factors that may affect starting pay within this range include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
