Job Details:

• Work three 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Weekend rotation required (every other weekend)
• Holiday coverage as needed
• No call requirements
• Patient ratio of 5-6 patients
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• First-time travelers accepted (prefer some surgical trauma experience)
• BLS required, ACLS preferred
• EPIC experience required
• Must pass EKG exam during compliance (2 attempts allowed)
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Subject to float between all health system campuses if needed
• Specialize in care of stable trauma patients
• Provide pre-op and post-op care for surgical patient population
• Work with rapid response teams, blood product administration, and peripheral line management
• Care for high volume patients including exploratory laparoscopies, hemi-colectomies, mastectomies, cholecystectomies, eye surgeries, trauma and plastic surgeries
• Also care for palliative care patients, 24-hour observation patients, and medical overflow patients
• Work with specialized equipment including lift equipment, wound vacs, and coude catheters

Facility: This major healthcare system operates multiple campuses and provides comprehensive medical services including trauma care, surgical services, and specialized patient care. The facility features a 32-bed medical surgical telemetry unit with a daily census of 30 patients, supported by interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. The organization maintains high standards for patient care and requires strict compliance protocols for all healthcare professionals.
