The RN Capacity Strategist optimizes resource utilization and ensures high-quality patient care by collaborating with nurse managers and schedulers to forecast demand and adjust staffing levels. They monitor performance metrics, implement improvements, and ensure compliance with regulations, contributing to a well-staffed, efficient healthcare environment.

Responsibilities
  • Works with Patient Placement and Administrative Coordinator (AC) on system processes to maximize the efficiency of patient care.
  • Analyzes patient census data, inpatient bed needs, and available resources to maintain safe patient care.
  • Ensures regulatory standards are met and understood by personnel.
  • Assesses patient flow issues throughout the hospital to determine their impact on patient safety.
  • Analyzes metrics to drive value to assure cost effective allocation of resources.
  • Leads daily campus bed huddles to triage and assess patient throughput, capacity changes and proactive bed planning.
  • Assists with campus initiatives to optimize patient throughput.
  • Supports nursing and cross-departmental leadership in designing efficient/effective and safe systems and processes to assure smooth patient throughput.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
  • Required:

    Bachelor's degree in Nursing
Experience
  • Required:

    7+ years of experience
Licensure / Certification / Registry / Listing
  • Required:

    RN licensure to practice in the state of NC
