Clinic Behavioral Health Therapist - Neurology

Overview

The Clinic Behavioral Health Therapist provides psychotherapy and social work services for patients and families dealing with mental health and substance use disorders, life stressors, and crises, and stress-related physical symptoms. This role assists with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of these conditions.

• Conduct psychosocial assessments to better understand a patient's diagnosis, illness, or treatment through investigating emotional, social, and environmental factors.
• Design and implement behavioral health treatment plans to help patients return to optimal functioning.
• Maintain knowledge of and relationships with community health and social agencies to expand the behavioral health services available to patients via collaboration or referral.
• Educate the patient and family on behavioral health treatment care processes and options to inspire confidence and continue recovery once discharged.
• Document patient care and treatment response with accuracy and timeliness in medical records to monitor recovery process.
• Advocate for patients during the provision of care to manage potential ethical concerns or other risks.
• Leverage experience to review the work of junior colleagues and provide guidance when necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required:

Master’s or Doctorate in Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling.

Required:

2 years of clinical experience.

Required:

One or more of the following licensures:
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Psychologist (PhD), Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC), Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) Supervisor, License Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS).
