Cost Analyst

Our client has a immediate opening for Cost Analyst. Will be responsible for preparation and analysis of inventories, profit estimates, cost audits, and other reports / special studies relating to the costing area.

Responsibilities:

• Perform varied cost analysis and accounting tasks requiring an understanding of concepts, procedures, and use of cost analysis and accounting knowledge.
• Prepare & analyze manufacturing variances for all actual results, profit estimates, and updates.
• Prepare & analyze monthly and quarterly cost audits, to include preparation of variance statements to management.
• Prepare & analyze total variance report (audits & estimates) for operational reporting.
• Assist as needed in the preparation & analysis of monthly, quarterly, and year-end valuations and inventories.
• Prepare various Special Cost Requests as directed by management.
• Assist in coordination of cost activities with plants and other staff departments.
• Maintain up-to-date information to develop the most accurate cost projections.
• Assist in development of new or added mfg. costs by using research and analysis where necessary.
• Assist in training and guidance of various personnel assigned to the Controller's Area when required.
• Perform any other special tasks upon request that require understanding of cost concepts, procedures, and cost accounting knowledge.

• BA/BS degree in accounting or finance.
• 7+ years manufacturing cost experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate with various levels of management and support areas.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles.
• Solid understanding of closing analysis and manufacturing variances, forecasting and inventory costing.
