Environmental Manager | Heavy Manufacturing

A large, well established industrial manufacturer in the Roanoke Valley is seeking an Environmental Manager to lead environmental compliance efforts for a complex, high impact manufacturing operation.

In recent years, the company has received multiple environmental and sustainability awards and has made significant investments in environmental performance, compliance excellence, and long term sustainability initiatives.

This role offers strong autonomy, leadership visibility, and the opportunity to influence environmental strategy at a critical production facility.

What You'll Do

• Lead site level environmental compliance and permitting activities

• Serve as the primary liaison with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies

• Oversee environmental monitoring, audits, reporting, and recordkeeping

• Develop and implement environmental management and improvement programs

• Train and guide internal teams on environmental requirements and best practices

• Investigate and resolve compliance issues and regulatory inquiries

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or a closely related field

• 5 to 7 years of environmental experience in heavy industrial or manufacturing environments

• Proven experience managing environmental compliance programs

• Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence across functions

• Experience with complex permits and regulatory agencies strongly preferred
