Estimated Hiring Salary Range: $72,652.00 – $83,032.00 Full Salary Range: $63,104.00 – $ Annually

Sign-On Bonus Eligible $4,152.00

The Plant Supervisor oversees and directs the daily operations of an assigned water treatment plant in compliance with internal (City of Greensboro) and external (State and Federal) procedures, guidelines, statutes, and laws. The Plant Supervisor is a designated Operator in Responsible Charge or Backup Operator in Responsible Charge as assigned at the plant. This individual is responsible for the proper operation of the processing facilities and associated environmentally sensitive systems.

The position requires supervision of plant operators which may include hiring, disciplinary actions, and personnel evaluations. Must have knowledge of all advanced surface water treatment processes and practices to exercise initiative and independent judgment in coordinating the efforts of other certified plant operators on a daily basis, to ensure that optimum techniques are utilized. Responsible for plant record keeping, including monthly, quarterly, and annual operation reports for the NC Department of Environment and Natural Resources/Public Water Supply Section as required.

This job is Non-Exempt and is subject to the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

• High School diploma/GED
• Valid Driver’s License
• Grade C NC Surface WTFO with the ability to obtain Grade A Surface within 24 months of hire date.
• 4+ years of advanced Surface Water Treatment processes and practices
• Grade 1 NC Physical/Chemical WPC (“OR” the ability to obtain one within 24 months of hire date).
• System Operator (or the ability to obtain one within 18 months of hire date)
• Grade C or higher Water Distribution System Operator Certification (or the ability to obtain one within 18 months of hire date).

• Associate’s Degree or higher in a science-related field.
• 7+ years of Surface Water Treatment experience
• 5+ years of Supervisory experience
