Construction Materials Project Manager

The Construction Services team at S&ME seeks an experienced Construction Materials Project Manager to join our Greensboro, North Carolina office.
What You Will Do- Project Oversight:
Manage Construction Materials Testing and Special Inspection projects, handling budgets, schedules, and resource planning from initiation to completion. - Field Support:
Coordinate and assist with field operations to ensure project specifications and client expectations are met. - Client Engagement:
Build strong client relationships and maintain clear communication throughout the project lifecycle. - Team Leadership:
Supervise and mentor field and office staff, providing direction, training, and support in project execution. - Business Development:
Grow and maintain a local client base, contribute to marketing efforts, and prepare cost proposals aligned with project scopes and industry standards.
This role is ideal for a seasoned Project Manager with strong technical knowledge in Construction Materials Testing and proven ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, and schedules.
Qualifications- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or a related Engineering field. - Experience:
Minimum 6 years in construction materials testing and inspection, with some project management experience. - Certifications/Licensure:
Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire; current ICC, ACI, and DOT certifications are a plus. - Key
Competencies:
• Strong working knowledge of ACI, ASTM, AASHTO, DOT standards and procedures, and IBC Special Inspections.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to develop and facilitate accurate technical materials.
