North Carolina A & T State University, School of Nursing – Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor (Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing) – 12‑month, non‑tenure‑track position.
Position OverviewThe role focuses on student‑centered teaching and clinical instruction for undergraduate and graduate courses.
Responsibilities include:
- Teaching didactic and clinical practicum courses in psychiatric/mental health nursing.
- Student advising, mentoring, and recruitment.
- Curriculum development and program assessment/accreditation activities.
- Supervising and supporting DNP student projects.
- Service to the School of Nursing, the college, university, and community/professional organizations.
- Minimum of a DNP or Ph.D. in nursing.
- Demonstrated pedagogical skills relevant to psychiatric/mental health nursing.
- Prior teaching experience in baccalaureate and/or graduate nursing programs.
- Three years of clinical experience related to mental health concepts and theories.
- Teaching experience in advanced pathophysiology.
- Nurse Educator Certification.
- Proficiency with Blackboard LMS, Banner INB, and Microsoft Office.
- Commitment to promoting diversity, inclusiveness, and collaboration.
Current unrestricted registered nurse license in North Carolina (or eligibility to obtain one) and national certification as a Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
