Primary Purpose
The Extension Agent for 4-H in Bladen County plans, executes, and evaluates comprehensive 4-H programs that serve limited‑resource youth ages 5‑19. The Agent collaborates with county and community organizations to deliver programs, recruit participants, determine program needs through needs assessments, and evaluate data from multiple sources to assess program impacts.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with county and community‑based organizations to deliver 4-H programs and recruit program participants.
- Conduct needs assessments to determine program priorities.
- Collect data from advisory committees, county residents, and program participants; analyze data to evaluate program impacts.
- Develop leadership and workforce skills in youth, including extensive STEM elements, through 4-H clubs, special interest youth programs, projects, after‑school programs, summer day camps, school enrichment programs, and other established delivery modes.
- Bachelor’s degree with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 overall (or 3.0 in the major field of study) on a 4.0 scale, or completion of a Master’s degree.
- Personal automobile and valid driver’s license.
- Computer literacy and strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to plan, implement, market, and evaluate educational programs.
- Team‑work orientation and support for a total Extension program.
- Ability to handle multiple demands and set priorities.
- Master’s degree is preferred for all Agent positions.
