Preschool Support Teacher - Infant Classroom

Overview

Friendly Avenue Christian Preschool is a Christian, Reggio Emilia-Inspired Preschool who seeks a Support Teacher with a heart for providing a high-quality, hands-on-learning environment for toddlers and preschool children. If you love connecting children to nature, creative activities, and developing a passion for learning in children, this is the opportunity you've been looking for. Position is 10am - 6pm, Monday through Friday.

Support Teachers will assist our Lead Teachers with a developmentally appropriate curriculum, assist in routine care, and facilitate positive interactions for children. Support Teachers should be flexible, ready to help, and have great communication skills. Experience is preferred.

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to relate positively with young children, parents, and staff.
• Demonstrate success in working as a member of a team.
• Effective and strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Demonstrate an ability to work successfully with community-based agencies.
• Must be a professing Christian.
• Demonstrate Christian values that support the goals and objectives of Friendly Ave Christian Preschool and Friendly Ave Baptist Church.

• Able to lift 30 lbs.
• Able to walk, squat/kneel, sit on floor, see, hear, speak with children to ensure children’s health and safety.
• Spend time outdoors daily in all seasons of weather.
