Temporary Summer Camp Support Staff

Position Overview

Temporary Summer Camp Support Staff – Temporary, full‑time, $15 per hour.

This position supports summer camp operations by assisting with program planning, camper supervision, and administrative tasks.

• Assist with the planning, preparation, and execution of summer camp activities.
• Assist with facilitating orientation for summer camp counselors and other summer staff.
• Provide general classroom, workshop, and program support to instructors and camp facilitators.
• Monitor campers to ensure a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment.
• Support the implementation of Protection of Minors standards and university safety protocols.
• Assist with camper transitions between activities, breakrooms, dining halls, and designated pick‑up/drop‑off areas.
• Report any incidents, concerns, or behavioral issues to the Program Director immediately.
• Support daily attendance tracking, check‑in/check‑out procedures, and general record‑keeping.
• Provide customer service to parents/guardians, visitors, and campus partners as needed.
• Assist with the Protection of Minors Training process and help ensure program compliance with university policies.

• High school diploma.
• Driver's license.

• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to complete training).
• Minimum age 18 years.
• Experience working with youth (camps, tutoring, mentoring, after‑school programs).
• Ability to work the full duration of the camp schedule.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow instructions, multitask, and work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and positive environment for minors.

Working hours:

Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–4 p.m. Position is temporary and full‑time.
