Lecturer in Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies (Critical Health Studies) Position Summary
The Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program at UNC Greensboro is seeking a professional‑track Lecturer in Gender and Health to begin in August 2026. The successful candidate will bring teaching experience and a creative approach to both in‑person and online pedagogy, preparing to teach introductory and advanced undergraduate courses in gendered bodies and health. These courses serve the WGSS Program and the newly developed interdisciplinary BA in Health, Medicine, and Society, and the instructor should also be prepared to teach Introduction to WGSS and/or Introduction to LGBTQI Studies.
Minimum qualification is an MA in WGSS or a related field; holdovars with a PhD will have the opportunity to teach at the graduate level. The role is for one academic year with a possibility of renewal.
ResponsibilitiesThe instructor will design and deliver curriculum in gender, health, and related disciplines, incorporating critical perspectives on disability studies, health access and equity, social medicine, trans health studies, health sovereignty, decolonial approaches to medicine, and the environment and health.
