Primary purpose:
The Department of Kinesiology, within the Hairston College of Health and Human Sciences, is seeking an assistant/associate professor whose teaching and scholarly research agenda is broadly aligned with recreation and/or sport management. This 9‑month, tenure‑track position will involve student‑centered teaching, clinical instruction of undergraduate courses, student advising and mentoring, recruitment, curriculum development, and participation in program assessment and accreditation. Candidates are expected to establish robust external‑funded research, publish widely, apply modern pedagogy, supervise student research projects, and provide service to the department, college, university, and community organizations.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in kinesiology, recreation, or sport management.
- Develop and supervise student research projects.
- Engage in student advising, mentoring, and recruitment.
- Participate in curriculum development and program assessment, including accreditation processes.
- Establish and sustain a strong externally funded research program in the candidate’s area of expertise.
- Publish regularly in peer‑reviewed journals and present at professional conferences.
- Provide departmental, collegiate, and university service, and serve community and professional organizations.
- Minimum a PhD (or ABD with degree awarded) in Kinesiology or a related discipline by date of appointment.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct research and secure external funding.
- Pedagogical skills for teaching courses relevant to recreation and sport management.
- Prior teaching experience at the baccalaureate and/or graduate level in a kinesiology program.
- Postdoctoral training is preferred.
- Evidence of student advisement and training.
- Commitment to fostering inclusiveness, collaboration, and diversity.
- Expertise in sport business analytics and business intelligence, and knowledge of NIL policy and management, is desirable.
