Pediatric Program Director

This position offers an exciting opportunity for a dynamic pediatric leader to serve as the Program Director for Pediatrics at Cone Health. Cone Health maintains a long standing academic partnership with the UNC School of Medicine and plays a central role in training both categorical pediatric residents and residents in the Primary Care Track. In this role, the Program Director serves as the pediatric teaching service director with comprehensive oversight of the inpatient teaching service, including the pediatric ward and newborn nursery, as well as associated faculty, residents, and advanced practice providers.

The Program Director also oversees the educational quality for Cone Health Family Medicine residents during their pediatric rotations. Working collaboratively with the UNC Department of Pediatrics and the UNC Pediatric Residency Program Director, this individual ensures the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of educational experiences for all learners rotating at Cone Health. The position is responsible for maintaining high standards of clinical teaching, supporting faculty development, aligning educational activities with program objectives and accreditation requirements, and promoting an engaging and supportive learning environment across both inpatient and outpatient settings.

• Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from a Medical School recognized by the North Carolina Medical Board.
• Experience: Must have specialty expertise and at least three years of documented educational and/or administrative experience.
• Licensure/Certification/Listing: Must have or be eligible for NC Medical License. Must have or be eligible for Cone Health Medical Staff credentialing. Must include current certification by an ABMS or AOA specialty board. Must maintain current certification in the specialty for which they are the program director.
