Overview
We are seeking an Associate Art Director to help lead and elevate creative across multiple brands in a fast‑paced environment. This role is both strategic and hands‑on, balancing creative direction, people management, and execution. The Associate Art Director will manage direct reports, oversee multiple fast‑moving projects, and deliver high‑quality creative across banners, emails, landing pages, and a wide range of visual assets, while taking direction from the Executive Design Director.
This position will work based from our Greensboro, NC offices as a hybrid role (2‑3 days a week onsite).
Responsibilities- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of designers providing clear direction and feedback.
- Deliver strong creative leadership through effective critiquing skills that elevate work while maintaining efficiency and momentum.
- Partner closely with marketing, brand, merchandising, and copy teams to align creative with business goals.
- Establish and uphold visual standards and brand consistency across multiple brands.
- Balance hands‑on design work with leadership responsibilities as needed.
- Continuously evaluate and improve creative workflows, processes, and team efficiencies.
- Stay current on design trends, tools, and emerging creative approaches to keep work innovative and competitive.
- Oversee creative development across banners, emails, landing pages, and other digital and marketing assets.
- Manage multiple fast‑moving projects simultaneously, ensuring quality, consistency, and on‑time delivery.
- Take creative direction and strategic guidance from the Executive Design Director and translate it into clear, actionable direction for the team.
- 6+ years of experience in creative design, with experience in a senior or leadership role.
- Proven experience managing direct reports and leading creative teams.
- Strong background in digital creative, including banners, emails, landing pages, and marketing visuals.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver clear, constructive creative critiques.
- Strong experience using a variety of modern design tools (Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, AI, and other emerging tools).
- Experience working efficiently in fast‑paced, high‑volume environments.
- Strong conceptual thinking, visual storytelling, and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Experience working across multiple brands or campaigns.
- Experience in ecommerce, beauty, fashion, or lifestyle brands is a plus.
- Creative output consistently meets a high bar for quality, strategy, and brand alignment.
- The team produces strong work efficiently without sacrificing craft.
- Creative feedback is clear, actionable, and helps designers grow.
- Projects move quickly and smoothly from concept to execution.
