Work Schedule:

June-August, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am-4:00 pm

• Hourly Employment:
  Roster positions are paid hourly and do not include benefits such as medical, dental, or vision insurance, life insurance, paid leave, or paid holidays.
• Limited
  
  Hours:
  
  Roster employees may work up to, but no more than, 1,000 hours in a 12 month period.
• Pension System:
  Roster positions are not eligible for membership in the city's pension system.

This position provides direct supervision of campers, and volunteers. This position assists in leading specific groups/activities during summer camp. This position is responsible for ensuring campers’ safety and will have to respond effectively in emergency situations. Work is performed under the supervision of a higher-level employee and is reviewed through conferences and observation of performance or completed assignments.

• Follow the directions of the program instructor in supervising the group
• Assist with the direction of activities
• Responsible for the knowledge of each camper’s medical history, assessment, and all other pertinent information and have this information available at all times
• Assist with keeping their group on schedule for all group activities
• Responsible for informing their campers of rules and regulations and maintaining discipline at all times
• Knowledge of Camp Joy emergency procedures
• Responsible for being in the pool each day with their group
• Attend staff meetings

This job is Non-Exempt under FLSA policy.

• Valid Driver’s License
• 1+ years working with persons with disabilities
• 1+ years summer camp experience

• First Aid/ CPR/ AED certified
• Behavior Intervention Training
