June-August, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am-4:00 pm

• Hourly Employment
  :
  Roster positions are paid hourly and do not include benefits such as medical, dental, or vision insurance, life insurance, paid leave, or paid holidays.
• Limited Hours
  :
  Roster employees may work up to, but no more than, 1,000 hours in a 12 month period.
• Pension System
  :
  Roster positions are not eligible for membership in the city’s pension system.

This position provides direct leadership in a recreation program at a facility‑based summer recreation program or activity. Supervision of other lower‑level employees, campers, and volunteers is required at all times. This position leads specific groups/activities during summer camp. This position is responsible for ensuring campers’ safety and will have to respond effectively in emergency situations. Work is performed under the supervision of a higher‑level employee and is reviewed through conferences and observation of performance or completed assignments.

• Responsible for daily activity plans for outdoor recreation or music activities
• Assist with the Talent Show
• Assist with driving vans to and from camp and pool
• Responsible for keeping their group on schedule for all group activities
• Responsible for informing their campers of rules and regulations and maintaining discipline at all times
• Knowledge of Camp Joy emergency procedures
• Assist with creating modifications so all campers can be included and successful
• Attend staff meetings

• Valid Driver’s License
• 2+ years working with persons with disabilities
• 1+ years summer camp experience

• First Aid/ CPR/ AED certified
• Behavior Intervention Training
