Are you someone who has managed an EMS system or fleet, and understands how purchasing ambulances in North Carolina really works? You understand the specs, the timelines, the internal processes, and the ultimate realities that drive purchasing decisions?
We’re looking for someone who thinks like an EMS systems manager. You know what matters to both paramedics as well as the system managers, why agencies choose one truck over another, and how lighting and equipment decisions get made long before a purchase order is finalized.
Your mission is to bring that systems-level understanding into the field, influence decisions, and convert that insight into sales of Fire Tech lighting system on new and remounted ambulances.
This is a field-based role covering North Carolina with possible expansion into Virgina, working directly with EMS leaders, fleet managers, and remounters.
What You’ll Be Doing- Build strong, credible relationships with EMS leadership and fleet managers in your assigned territory, and interface with the dealers they do business with today.
- Visit every single NC EMS agency at least twice per year and maintain ongoing system-level engagement.
- Focus exclusively on ambulance-related opportunities, including new ambulance builds and remounted ambulances.
- Identify ambulances that have already been sold (but not manufactured) and actively work to change the lighting specs when changes are still possible.
- Develop and influence lighting standards across new ambulance builds and remounted fleet programs.
- Why an EMS agency chooses one truck or product over another
- What fleet managers care about most when evaluating equipment
- Why an agency would consider switching vendors or configurations
- Continuously refine your approach:
- Sharpen the message that resonates with EMS decision-makers
- Improve the process that converts interest into action
- Move on quickly when something isn’t working
- Has EMS systems management or EMS fleet management experience (required)
- Has directly participated in spec’ing or purchasing ambulances (required)
- Understands the full ambulance buying lifecycle, from specs to delivery.
- Understands the buying process and buying motivations.
- Deeply understands how equipment and lighting choices affect EMS operations
- Can quickly move beyond a “no” and redirecting efforts quickly to finding agencies that say “yes”
- Earns trust through real-world EMS purchasing knowledge, not sales tactics
- Must be comfortable driving and parking a full-size Type 1 Ambulance
- Pipeline build and revenue from successful spec changes on active ambulance builds.
- Pipeline build and revenue from remounter truck ambulance builds.
- Meetings with qualified decision makers from agencies in your territory.
- Documented sales insights into why agencies buy, switch, or stay with a given solution that can be used to drive sales and for market expansion.
This position offers six-figure On-Target Earnings (OTE) through a competitive base salary, activity-based bonuses tied to meetings with EMS decision-makers, and uncapped commission. As the EMS business scales, high performers will see increased earning potential and expanded career opportunity.
Why Hi Viz- Trusted Fire-market brand opening doors in EMS.
- Strong name recognition as HiViz is headquartered in NC.
- Dedicated demo vehicle, CRM tools, and internal support.
- Direct access to leadership and influence on EMS strategy.
- Opportunity to build based on results produced to eventually lead the EMS business nationally.
If you’ve managed an EMS system, understand fleet realities, and know how purchasing decisions are actually made, this role gives you the opportunity to apply that expertise at scale.
