We are seeking a strategic and visionary Product Management Excellence (PMX) Lead to elevate the product management discipline within our Convenience Retail organization. This leadership role is responsible for defining and driving best‑in‑class product management processes, fostering a culture of innovation and operational excellence, and enabling sustainable growth.
Responsibilities- Talent Development:
Build and develop product management excellence capabilities across GM organizations; mentor and train product managers on Agile Product Management (APM), Solution Portfolio Reviews (SPR), and Program Increment (PI) processes. - Process & Tools Design:
Create and implement standardized product management workflows, tools, templates, and governance structures to improve consistency and efficiency. - Strategic Oversight:
Review and approve solution portfolio strategies and roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business objectives and robust financial business cases. - Performance & ROI Analysis:
Conduct ‘Say-Do’ performance tracking and R&D Return on Investment (ROI) analysis to ensure commitments are met within budget and forecast parameters. - Governance Leadership:
Lead quarterly strategic portfolio reviews, prioritization sessions, gate reviews, and PI governance to maintain disciplined and transparent decision‑making. - Capability Gap Analysis:
Identify skill gaps within product teams and prioritize functional development to strengthen overall product management maturity. - Platform & Solution Strategy:
Champion platform and horizontal solution strategies that support long‑term business goals. - Investment Prioritization:
Evaluate and prioritize investments based on strategic fit, technical feasibility, and financial returns; allocate resources to maximize ROI and resolve resource conflicts. - Product Lifecycle Management:
Define and guide the End of Life (EOL) process for products, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption. - Cross‑Functional
Collaboration:
Support M&A funnel creation, adjudicate priority conflicts, manage cross‑GM price approvals, and make critical ‘Make vs. Buy’ decisions. - Partner & M&A Identification:
Identify strategic partners and acquisition targets to enhance the product portfolio and market position. - Leadership:
Lead and inspire Product Management throughout the organization, fostering a high‑performance and innovative culture.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive product management leadership experience in large, complex organizations.
- Advanced degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven track record collaborating effectively with global Commercial, GM, and Engineering teams to shape strategy, prioritize initiatives, and drive product commercialization.
- Strong expertise in portfolio management, governance frameworks, and financial analysis related to R&D investments.
- Experience managing cloud‑based and on‑premise platform products is highly desirable. Exceptional communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead change and influence at all organizational levels including Lean tools within the Scaled Agile Framework to accelerate adoption of continuous improvement practices across the enterprise.
The base compensation range for this position is $128,750 to $197,400 per annum. Your actual base salary will be determined based upon numerous factors which may include relevant experience, skills, location (labor market data), credentials (education, certifications), and internal equity.
