We are seeking an experienced Tax Accountant / CPA to join a growing public accounting team in Greensboro, North Carolina
. This role focuses on delivering high-quality tax preparation, compliance, and advisory services for a diverse client base including individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts.
The ideal candidate is a technically skilled tax professional who thrives in a deadline-driven public accounting environment and enjoys building long-term relationships with clients. In this role, you will work directly with business owners and individuals while contributing to strategic tax planning and compliance initiatives.

- Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals and business entities
- Provide proactive tax planning guidance to help clients reduce liabilities and improve financial outcomes
- Conduct technical tax research to ensure compliance with evolving regulations and laws
- Communicate directly with clients regarding filings, documentation requirements, and tax planning strategies
- Respond to IRS and state tax notices, correspondence, and audit inquiries
- Assist with quarterly estimated tax planning and annual projections
- Maintain organized digital work papers and documentation according to firm standards
- Collaborate with colleagues on complex tax engagements and advisory projects
- Active CPA license required (or actively pursuing CPA with relevant tax experience)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s in Taxation preferred)
- Minimum 3+ years of public accounting tax experience
- Strong understanding of federal and state tax regulations
- Experience using professional tax preparation software and accounting systems
- Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines, especially during tax season
- Professional communication skills with a client-service mindset
