Responsible for the accurate and timely preparation in the accounts payable functions.

• Implements, maintains, and reviews the purchasing process and accounting systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of accounts payable transactions, this includes the processing of invoices, ach batches and manual check batches, and the transmission of batches through the banking system.
• Work with the Agency’s management concerning the investigation of accounts payable transactions.
• Ensure that drawdowns are accurately computed and timely requested.
• Process 1099 forms annually.
• Perform payroll duties as a back up to the PR Staff Accountant.
• Provides support to the auditors by retrieving invoices and documentation.
• Adhere to Accounting and Financial General Procedures, which are incorporated herein by reference.
• Will maintain the fiscal partnership with the Education and Training Department, including the budgeting and internal and external financial reporting.
• Perform other job-related tasks as assigned.

• BS or BA in accounting or related field is preferred, High School Graduate with relevant experience is acceptable
• Demonstrated proficiency in using a computerized accounting system, and in using spreadsheet , word processing and other commonly-used software.
• Demonstrated ability to perform effectively the duties required for the job, including verbal ability to communicate, auditory capacity to respond to children and adults, visual ability to complete written assignments and physical ability to complete assignments given accommodations as required by law

• Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time throughout the day.
• Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
• Must be able to bend and stoop.
• Must be able to walk extended periods throughout the day monitoring.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• Specific vision abilities required by the job include close, distance, color, peripheral depth and the ability to adjust focus.
