Job Description

Inverclyde Libraries are recruiting for the post of Active Citizenship Librarian. This is a six‑month fixed‑term project position, funded by the Scottish Government Public Library Improvement Fund. The project aims to empower citizens to think critically, navigate misinformation and disinformation, and engage in democratic life within the trusted and supportive environment of the library.

The postholder should have good knowledge of the principles of media and information literacy, be able to relate to people of different ages and from diverse backgrounds, and be motivated to create opportunities for connection, discussion, and understanding within the library.

Preferred qualifications:

degree in library and information studies / information management or substantial relevant experience in the library sector.
