Sr Staff Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a Staff/Senior Staff Engineer with deep expertise in Logic Synthesis and/Or Static Timing Analysis (STA). This role involves driving RTL-to-gate-level implementation, timing closure, and optimization for complex SoCs across advanced technology nodes.

• Perform logic synthesis for large-scale ASIC designs using Synopsys Design Compiler and Cadence Genus.
• Develop and optimize multi-mode, multi-corner (MMMC) constraints for synthesis and STA.
• Conduct Static Timing Analysis using Prime Time/Tempus for sign-off across multiple corners and modes.
• Implement timing closure strategies, including ECOs, buffer insertion, and cell sizing.
• Collaborate with RTL, Physical Design, and DFT teams to ensure design quality and schedule adherence.
• Automate flows using Tcl, Perl, Python scripting to improve efficiency.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead timing closure efforts.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 8-14 years of hands‑on experience in ASIC design with focus on Synthesis and STA.
• Strong knowledge of timing concepts, OCV/AOCV/POCV, and derating strategies.
• Proficiency in EDA tools:
  Synopsys Design Compiler, Prime Time, Cadence Genus, Tempus.
• Solid understanding of low‑power design techniques (UPF, clock gating).
• Excellent scripting skills in Tcl, Perl, Python.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with advanced nodes (7nm/5nm or below).
• Familiarity with DFT, Floor planning, and Physical Design constraints.
• Prior experience in flow development and optimization.

Qualifications:

B.E. /

B.Tech / M.E. / M.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE), VLSI Design, Microelectronics, or related field.
