The Center for Human Development (CHD) is offering a Nurse Practitioner Preceptorship Program! Are you a current Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) student seeking hands‑on clinical experience? Whether you are pursuing an MSN, DNP, or post‑graduate certificate, CHD offers a rich and diverse preceptorship opportunity to support your professional journey.
About the ProgramCHD provides structured preceptorships for students at all levels of nursing education—excluding Associate, Bachelor's, Master’s and Doctoral programs. Nurse Practitioner students are matched with experienced preceptors and gain exposure to a wide range of mental health and behavioral health services, including:
- Outpatient psychiatry (for both pediatric and adult populations)
- Medication‑Assisted Treatment (MAT) for substance use disorders.
- Individual and group therapy models
- Students will be placed with at minimum one preceptor and often have a secondary preceptor to expand their learning experience
Additionally, CHD’s extensive network of community‑based mental health clinics and social service programs broadens your clinical experience within a real‑world, integrated care model. This will be an unpaid opportunity.
Eligibility Requirements- Must be currently enrolled in a PMHNP Program (MSN, DNP, or post‑grad certificate)
- Must hold a valid RN license in the state of Massachusetts
- Applicants looking to begin clinical in the fall should submit applications by April 30th
; applicants looking to begin clinical in the spring semester should complete applications by August 30th
; applicants looking to begin clinical in summer semester should complete applications by Dec 30th
