Program Engagement Assistant
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Program Engagement Assistant assists with the general operations of the Community Engagement Center (CEC), a social day program designed to provide safe, dynamic programming for older adults and individuals with dementia and provide support to caregivers. Responsibilities include working collaboratively with others to create a clean, safe, and comfortable environment, assisting with care needs, helping to plan and facilitate activities, and being actively engaged with participants throughout the day.
This is a grant funded position through June 2026.
High school diploma or equivalent and at least one year experience working with older adults and people living with dementia or home health aide experience preferred. Ability to interact with people who are living with dementia individually and in groups. Good listening and engagement skills. Comfort with providing some personal care assistance. Serv Safe Food Handler certification is a plus. Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
Understanding of group dynamics. Enthusiastic about providing programs to older adults. Ability to follow and respond to instruction. Ability to work in a changing environment based on Participant Needs.
SUPERVISION:
This position reports to the CEC Program Coordinator
