Building Substitute

Position: Building Based Substitute
Building-based Substitute for the  school year to provide instruction, and support, and to promote student learning in the absence of the regular classroom teacher or instructional assistant.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Reports to the building principal or school secretary upon arrival at the school building for daily assignments.

* Review with the principal all plans and schedules to be followed during the teaching day.

* Consult with the principal and/or staff to resolve questions and/or concerns.

* Maintains as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which they are assigned.

* Develops and maintains a positive learning environment.

* Works cooperatively with staff.

* Respects student privacy by maintaining the confidentiality of privileged information.

* Teaches the lesson outlined and as prepared by the absent teacher.

* Consults as appropriate, with the building principal before initiating any teaching or other procedures.

* Assumes responsibility for overseeing student behavior in class and during lunch and recess periods.

* Follows all policies, rules, and procedures to which regular teachers are subject and which good teaching practice dictates.

* Performs any other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as the principal or designee may from time to time assign and delegate.

SALARY:
Per the GEA Master Agreement Unit C Salary Schedule starting at $17.95/hour
