The one-line manager is expected to fully understand all warehouse processes to proficiently execute CES Online fulfillment center activities and standard operating procedures.
The one-line manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the one-line department. The manager will oversee the assembly department ensuring quality, proficiency, and safety. The one-line department manager will promote teamwork and collaboration among departments.
Essential Job Functions- Plan, direct and coordinate the operations of the assembly department and complete reports related to production and staff.
- Assist with the coordination of employee training and evaluation of warehouse employees.
- Assure timely filling and completion of customer order by efficiently utilizing resources.
- Follows standard manufacturing procedures and monitors work to meet product specifications and production targets.
- Communicate and work closely with other departments.
- Produces components by assembling parts and subassemblies.
- Reads and deciphers schematics, blueprints, and assembly instructions.
- Uses hand tools to assemble parts.
- Collaborating with team in order to assemble products.
- Identify defective and handling them according to established procedures.
- Monitor inventory for correct quantities of components.
- Verify resources and supplies prior to assembly.
- Inspect tools and equipment necessary to perform the task.
- Coordinates job assignments and cross‑training between and within divisions.
- Coordinates with other departments to ensure timely delivery of components.
- Enforce work standards and handle disciplinary processes.
- Play a key role in the implementation of new processes and/or standard operations procedures.
- Operate and maneuver material handling equipment and any material(s) contained thereon in the manner consistent with the intended purpose of the equipment and the manufacturers’ instructions.
- Maintain the warehouse in an orderly and clean state; follow all company safety procedures; perform daily safety inspections (follow LEAN principles).
- Monitor workplace safety and strive to prevent injuries and accidents.
- Ensure a healthy and productive work environment.
- Identify deficiencies and/or areas of improvement and communicate to management team for resolution.
- Any other duties assigned by the Fulfillment Center Manager.
- High school diploma or GED, bachelor’s degree preferred; five to ten years of previous warehouse experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Individual must have PC skills and product knowledge. In addition, must possess interpersonal skills, organizational skills, be self-sufficient, detail oriented, and have an ability to communicate effectively.
- Preferred candidates will have electrical product and application knowledge, electrical product materials handling experience, and a background in wholesale electrical distribution.
- Valid driver's license and/or CDL and ability to obtain forklift license.
