Joining us as a Team Leader
, you’ll provide leadership to a customer-centric team of associates and accelerate seasonal tax business by managing a single H&R Block tax office. You’ll lead the front-line team, deliver an outstanding client experience, and work to achieve office growth objectives. You will also develop knowledge and skills to excel as a resource on tax topics and products for associates.
- Provide leadership and development of tax office associates to deliver exceptional client experiences and achieve office growth objectives.
- Lead daily activities to ensure work is completed on time with attention to quality standards, priorities, and goals.
- Build an engaging team environment by training and coaching associates to meet Service Standards and recognize outstanding contributions.
- Lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information to tax office associates.
- Create associate work schedules, ensure accurate timekeeping and overtime management.
- Prepare tax returns as required and act as a knowledgeable resource on tax topics and products for associates.
- Partner with the District General Manager to create and implement office-level growth plans, including developing local partnerships and managing office community involvement.
- Assist in recruiting and interviewing candidates for tax office positions and serve as the point of contact for onsite escalated client service concerns.
- Ensure clients are scheduled properly and conflicts are resolved.
- Conduct timely performance reviews and address performance concerns in collaboration with appropriate resources.
- Prior experience in a customer service, shift leader, or similar role; experience supervising or managing people.
- Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course* (if preparing tax returns).
- Annual completion of continuing education and ability to meet IRS and state requirements.
- Computer proficiency with MS Office; ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong customer-centric mindset, resilience, and flexible work schedule requirements based on business needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent on or above.
