Overview
Sample Management/Archive Assistant for preclinical studies in Greenfield, Indiana. In this position you will oversee laboratory or research specimens from preclinical research (animal research) studies. Responsibilities include ensuring sample integrity, maintaining documentation standards, receiving samples, packing and shipping samples.
Key Responsibilities- Performs any combination of sample management and/or archive tasks, including labeling, receipt, transferring, tracking, inventory, archival, shipping, and disposal of samples and/or materials.
- Sample accession core tasks, including box opening, inventory/labeling, receipt/store, and pulls/returns.
- Uses tracking systems as appropriate to maintain sample and study integrity.
- Accurate protocol and relevant documentation interpretation (i.e., Sample Analysis Outline, client paperwork).
- Document and communicate discrepancies to appropriate personnel, and assist with problem solving. Assist with audit responses to QAU inspections.
- Maintain client and business confidentiality.
- Prioritize individual workloads and responsibilities.
- Contribute to a cohesive team environment and communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
- Support process improvement initiatives and adhere to company Global/Regional/Local SOPs as appropriate.
- Comply with relevant Environmental, Health and Safety regulations and Company Policies.
- Operate and maintain environmental monitoring systems as appropriate.
- Maintain storage units and ensure security and access to relevant areas and data or sample integrity.
- Assist with training and development relevant to grade.
- Perform other duties as required from time to time.
- Pay Range: $18-$21 per hour. Offers based on candidate’s skills, experience, degrees/certifications, internal equity and market data.
- HS Diploma required; some college coursework preferred but not required.
- Previous experience in laboratory or research sample management preferred but not required.
- Good keyboarding skills; prior experience with high-volume documentation in a laboratory environment preferred but not required.
- Stable work history required.
