Position: Production Engineer I

This position will be part of the xEV Regional Power Electronics Engineering (PE) group and will be responsible for activity and support for xEV products. The purpose for the position will be to support activities to establish equipment layouts, parts flow and technical documentation preparations for programs related to xEV products. This position offers opportunities to work with a wide variety of aspects of the manufacturing processes, a wide variety of departments and levels of management within the company both domestic and international.

Essential functions of this job include:

  • Provide Line and Plant Layouts for new Production Lines
  • Assist other PE engineers with preparing documents required for line verification at start-up.
  • Assist other PE Engineers in setting up testing trials/experiments for customer/internal troubles, including countermeasure activity as needed.
  • Support development and research of new technologies
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):
  • 4 Year College Degree in related field technical field or equivalent experience and education.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and spreadsheets necessary to perform job duties
  • Ability to make quick, accurate, data driven decisions and utilize excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD, Inventor, etc.) and Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have transportation to and from local facility. (Not a remote position)
Preferred Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):
  • 4

    Yr university engineering degree or related field.
  • Work experience within automotive industry, with emphasis in electro/mechanical devices
  • Knowledge of EV components such as inverters and motors
  • Knowledge of APQP, FMEA, Control Plans, etc.
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing
Essential to Job Functions – Physical and/or Mental Restrictions:
  • Ability to work for long periods of time while sitting
  • Standing, walking, and bending for the duration of the workday
  • Visual ability to work accurately with detailed information and a computer screen
Software:
  • Intermediate experience required in Windows, MSWord, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Experience in CAD ware (AutoCAD, Inventor, or other)
  • Project Management Software preferred (MS Project)
