The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate greets Customers courteously, follows company standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate may perform a range of functions across store areas as needed and may be asked to perform additional tasks to support customer service and operational goals.
Essential Functions- Understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors in everything they do.
- Maintains awareness on the sales floor to create a safe, secure shopping environment; keeps egress clear; reports unsafe conditions promptly.
- Treats Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; friendly and professional at all times; recognizes fellow Associates through Company recognition programs.
- Assists Customers as needed. Is register-trained, answers questions knowledgeably, and greets Customers with eye contact and a smile; thanks Customers at checkout.
- Provides prompt responses to Customer service needs; handles issues courteously and involves Store Leadership when needed.
- Represents and supports the Company brand at all times.
- Performs cleaning tasks (sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping surfaces) and restocks restrooms to maintain a clean environment and merchandise presentation.
- Maintains professional appearance and adheres to the Company's dress code.
- Performs daily sizing and recovery to keep the store neat and merchandised to standards.
- Expedites newly received merchandise to the sales floor according to guidelines and maintains brand name familiarity within departments to assist Customers.
- Understands Loss Prevention programs and merchandise protection standards.
- Safeguards confidential information and cash handling in accordance with policies.
- Follows MOS (Mark-Out-of-Stock) policies and proper disposal review with Store Leadership.
- Handles cash, checks, card transactions and refunds with accuracy and awareness.
- Demonstrates urgency to maximize productivity and minimize steps in workflow.

- Effectively communicate with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
- Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PC as required.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the Store up to 100% of working time.
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Ability to occasionally push, pull and lift more than 25 pounds.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and other assigned supplies.
- Some assignments may require other qualifications and skills.
- Stockroom shifts:
Ability to regularly push, pull and lift more than 20 pounds.
