Product Engineer II

PRODUCT ENGINEER II:

Plans, schedules, organizes and coordinates detailed phases of engineering work with specific focus on product modifications and application projects. In addition, performs work that involves conventional R & D, and Product Design. This position may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting Design and Manufacturing requirements.

This position reports to Lead Engineer. It is solely accountable for the fulfillment of all assigned duties and has authority delegated commensurate with assigned responsibilities.

• Research and Development.
• Product Design & Improvement.
• Professional engineering & quality documentation within the field of product development.
• Cooperation with operational units based on project scope.
• Production of accurate work.
• Management of assigned projects and engineering activities, supervise and review work results of assigned team members.
• Ability to make informed decisions based on complexity of project and impact for the company.
• Identify potential risks and hazards of products within responsibility.
• Clarification and coordination of engineering questions with lead engineers, other operational units, suppliers and if required with customers.
• Any additional duties that have not been specifically stated but which may be assigned, and those that are logically and properly inherent to this position.

• Command of standardized JOST CAD Software.
• Completion of Engineering Degree (Bachelor's) with Mechanical or comparable skills, combined with a minimum of three (3) years of practical experience in product design.
• Highly dependable, motivated with self-management characteristics.
• High level of attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in work.
• Excellent communication, verbal, written, analytical and organizational skills.
• Successful at multi-tasking and has the ability to successfully handle multiple projects at various stages of completion.
• Must be able to work with others in a team environment.
• Ability to gain knowledge, interpret and adhere to JOST International Basic Processes.
• Travel 5%-15% per year, as required.
• Knowledge and Experience with FMEA processes.
• Ability to gain knowledge of company products. Comply with quality, environmental, safety and JOST company policies and procedures.

• Exemplary written, verbal, organizational, analytical and communication skills as well as good interpersonal skills.
• Capable of working in a fast-paced office environment with successful multi-tasking and the ability to handle multiple projects at various stages of completion, successfully and timely.

• Work is generally performed in office setting.
• While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, see, hear and frequently required to walk; use hands, reach, stoop, bend, twist, stand and occasionally will be required to lift or move objects up to 50 pounds.
