The Paint Line Technician is responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting paint line equipment to ensure consistent production quality and efficiency. This role requires hands‑on experience with automated paint systems, surface preparation, and paint application processes in a plastics manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up, operate, and monitor automated and manual paint line equipment.
  • Ensure proper surface preparation and adhesion of paint on molded plastic parts (blow mold and injection mold).
  • Mix and prepare paint materials according to specifications.
  • Perform paint line adjustments for optimal coverage, color accuracy, and finish quality.
  • Conduct routine inspections and quality checks of painted components.
  • Troubleshoot paint application, equipment, and process issues to minimize downtime.
  • Assist with maintenance and cleaning of spray booths, robots, conveyors, and curing ovens.
  • Follow all safety and environmental procedures, including proper handling of paints and solvents.
  • Document production data, paint usage, and maintenance activities.
  • Support continuous improvement and 5S initiatives in the paint and assembly departments.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Prior experience in a paint line or finishing role in a manufacturing setting.
  • Knowledge of paint application processes, including electrostatic or robotic painting.
  • Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read work instructions, safety procedures, and quality specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
  • Experience in plastic manufacturing (blow molding or injection molding) is a plus but not required.
  • Forklift certification or material handling experience a plus but not required.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing or 5S principles.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
