The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the leadership, execution, and financial performance of multiple civil construction projects. This role provides senior-level oversight to Project Managers and Project Engineers while driving projects from preconstruction through closeout. Strong leadership, commercial awareness, and the ability to manage complex scopes and budgets are essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee multiple civil construction projects with full responsibility for safety, quality, schedule, and budget.
  • Provide senior guidance on change orders, bidding, cost proposals, and subcontractor negotiations.
  • Direct project execution from planning through closeout, ensuring compliance with contract documents and safety plans.
  • Manage staffing, resources, and coordination with subcontractors and internal teams.
  • Oversee cost reporting, forecasting, and financial controls.
  • Communicate project performance, risks, and expectations to senior leadership and clients.
  • Mentor and develop Project Managers and Engineers; assist with hiring as needed.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships and support regional business development efforts.
  • Lead project reviews and capture lessons learned to drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in civil and underground utility construction.
  • Strong background in earthwork, utilities, trenchless technologies, and complex civil scopes.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple large projects simultaneously.
  • Solid understanding of construction accounting and cost controls.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and common construction management software (HCSS, Sage Timberline preferred).
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as project demands require.
  • Experience with alternative delivery methods (Design-Build, CMAR) a plus.
