Job Summary
The Prince George’s County Department of Parks and Recreation is currently seeking a Hardware Specialist to support Tier 2 customer service, technical troubleshooting, and hardware operations. The ideal candidate has strong technical aptitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively and independently with both internal and external customers in a fast-paced support environment. This onsite part‑time position may require evening shifts, early mornings, and occasional weekend work.
Responsibilities- Troubleshoots and resolves escalated hardware and software issues for internal staff and external users.
- Installs, configures, upgrades, and maintains hardware, peripherals, and mobile equipment.
- Makes and maintains hardware inventory, including tracking and monitoring assets using inventory management systems.
- Performs system administration functions for core software systems, including configuration, user account maintenance, and financial adjustments.
- Ensures compliance with Customer Service Help Desk service level agreements (SLAs) and established quality standards.
- Develops and maintains knowledge base documentation and provides training to staff and department end users.
- Provides Tier 2 customer, technical, and on‑site support for call center operations, high-volume registration periods, and special events.
- Must possess a High School Diploma or GED.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- One year of experience providing Help Desk support (Tier 1 or Tier
2) or equivalent knowledge of technical support and ticketing systems.
