Are you passionate about patient care and looking to make a difference in a surgical setting? Join our team as a Surgical Dental Assistant / Surgical Technician, where you’ll play a vital role assisting surgeons during consultations and procedures. You’ll support anesthesia and implant cases, provide outstanding pre-operative and post-operative care, and help maintain the highest standards of safety and precision in our state-of-the-art practice.
Responsibilities- Surgical & Clinical Support
- Assist the surgeon during oral and maxillofacial surgeries, including implant placement and extractions.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and surgical rooms in accordance with infection control standards.
- Monitor and record patient vitals during procedures; maintain competency in anesthesia monitoring.
- Ensure all treatment plans and consent forms are accurately completed and organized.
- Patient Care
- Prepare patients for procedures and explain pre- and post-operative instructions clearly and compassionately.
- Support patient recovery and provide thorough post-op care guidance.
- Compliance & Safety
- Adhere to OSHA, HIPAA, and office safety protocols, including radiation protection standards.
- Capture high-quality radiographs with proper exposure and anatomical accuracy.
- Maintain a sterile and organized surgical environment at all times.
- Documentation & Equipment Maintenance
- Maintain accurate electronic patient records and documentation.
- Inspect, clean, and sterilize equipment and instruments to ensure readiness for each procedure.
- Team Collaboration & Professionalism
- Work closely with surgeons and team members to ensure efficient surgical flow.
- Contribute to a positive, respectful team environment.
- Uphold patient confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism in every interaction.
- Maryland X-Ray Certification (Required)
- BLS Certification (Required)
- Dental Assistant Certification (Preferred)
- Safety Adherent:
Follow strict safety guidelines and procedures according to OSHA and office standards. - Policy Follower:
