As a Meat Clerk, you will:

• Provide a high level of customer service, offering assistance, answering questions, and handling special orders.
• Practice safe food‑handling procedures and maintain product knowledge and preparation techniques.
• Receive, store, and grind meats; unload and transport fresh, cured, and boxed meats and poultry from the delivery truck.
• Count and weigh incoming articles and compare results against invoices.
• Examine meats in storage, rotate them to avoid aging, and perform daily “Clean as You Go” and “Fresh at 4” programs.
• Maintain a positive, customer‑focused work environment and adhere to all procedural guidelines of the Meat Department.

• Be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent and basic knowledge of math, weights, and measures.
• Be dependable, reliable, and open to performing related duties as assigned.
• Demonstrate an outgoing, friendly attitude and the ability to interact with customers.
• Work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Communicate effectively and take direction while participating in a team environment.
• Perform general housekeeping in the department, cleaning and sanitizing work areas.
• Adhere to all safety, health, weights and measures regulations, and company recipes.
• Stand for up to 4 hours continuously and work a total of 8 hours per shift; walk up to 2 miles per shift.
• Work inside a temperature‑controlled area and maintain cleanliness of tables, floors, walls, cases, coolers, and freezers.
• Possess good vision for using sharp knives, a bandsaw, grinder, sausage maker, box cutter, wrapping machine, and tenderizer.
• Lift/carry products horizontally/vertically between 25–90 lbs, from 4″ to 60″, at a distance up to 10 feet for 20 hours.
• Operate a pallet jack to move pallets horizontally up to 500 lbs for up to 5 hours.
• Move racks of products up to 70 lbs horizontally at a force up to 25 lbs for up to 10 hours.
• Move tables weighing up to 70 lbs with a force greater than 35 lbs for up to 1 hour.
