La Posada is looking for a full-time Laundry Attendant to join our dynamic Environmental Services department.

• Pick-up soiled articles from residents and/or campus depositories
• Weigh, sort and load articles into washers. Record weights on appropriate forms
• Start machine that automatically washes and rinses articles
• Lift clean, wet articles from washer and place them into dryers for measured time cycles
• Iron articles using mangle iron, or hand iron as necessary
• Fold and coordinate cleaned laundry and linen
• Distribute clean linen and/or personal laundry to appropriate residents/patients and departments
• Clean and maintain the laundry and/or linen rooms
• Responsible for occasional housekeeping in assigned area
• Maintain communication with contracted personnel responsible for maintenance of machines and chemicals
• Demonstrate personal responsibility and respect for self and others
• Adhere to all Department policies, procedures, and mandatory requirements
• Communicate professionally and courteously with residents, patients, staff, guests, and family members
• Follow all Infection Control practices, including hand washing techniques, standard precautions, isolation precautions, and safety precautions
• Complete work assignments in a timely manner
• Demonstrate excellence in customer service
• Ability to work on one s own with normal supervision
• Able to adjust to changing situations and needs
• Participate in other duties, as assigned by the Supervisor, for which you are qualified and can reasonably be expected to complete with minimal orientation
• Maintains age-specific safety precautions including Elderly – No small or sharp objects or tools that may injure residents, patients, or visitors; keep hallways and pathways clear of laundry carts

• Recoger artículos sucios de los residentes y/o depósitos del campus
• Pesar, clasificar y cargar artículos en lavadoras
• Registrar los pesos en los formularios apropiados
• Poner en marcha la máquina que lava y enjuaga automáticamente los artículos
• Levantar artículos limpios y húmedos de la lavadora para colocarlos en secadoras durante ciclos de tiempo medidos
• Planchar los artículos usando hierro mangle o hierro manual según sea necesario
• Doblar y coordinar la ropa limpia
• Distribuir ropa de cama limpia y/o lavandería personal a los residentes/pacientes y departamentos apropiados
