PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: Under supervision, performs public contact and clerical work in processing and issuing motor vehicle licenses, mobile machinery, sales taxes and fees.
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY AND PERFORMANCE- Prepares and types letters and forms;
- Establishes and maintains files;
- Processes mail;
- Enters data into computer;
- Responds to phone and personal inquiries;
- Receives property tax payments;
- Places telephone calls to delinquent taxpayers;
- Assists in collection of delinquent taxes;
- Issues new plates and renewal tabs for vehicles;
- Issues reminder cards;
- Transfers plates;
- Verifies VIN numbers with plates;
- Issues licenses for mobile machinery;
- Balances cash drawer daily;
- Reconciles bank statements;
- Collects bad checks;
- Deposits funds;
- Collects sales taxes and fees;
- Maintains inventory;
