We are seeking a skilled and innovative Electrical Engineer to join our team at Vac-Con. This role involves the design, development, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems and components used in high-performance sewer cleaning and hydro-excavation machinery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, a passion for problem-solving, and the ability to work in a dynamic, hands‑on environment.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop electrical systems for sewer cleaning equipment, including control panels, wiring harnesses, and embedded systems.
- Collaborate with mechanical and design engineers to integrate electrical components into complex machinery.
- Create and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Conduct testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
- Support manufacturing and field service teams with technical expertise and training.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations (e.g., NEC, UL, CE).
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and product development cycles.

- Proficiency in electrical CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).
- Experience with PLC programming and industrial automation (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
- Knowledge of motor control systems, sensors, and power distribution.
- Familiarity with embedded systems and microcontroller programming is a plus.
- Strong understanding of safety standards and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (required).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or working toward licensure (preferred).
- Continuing education or certifications in industrial automation or controls (a plus).
- Ability to work in manufacturing and field environments, including exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb ladders as needed.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.
Combination of office and manufacturing. Noise, dust, heat, and cold are present in Production and Assembly environments.
