Position Summary
Amerhart is currently hiring for 2nd Shift Material Handlers in our Green Bay - Amerhart facility. The primary responsibility of this position is to perform all duties associated with shipping, receiving, and stocking warehouse material. As a member of the Operations team, we expect you to offer to help others when the workload demands, treat teammates with respect and care, and perform work in a safe manner according to safety policies and procedures.
Pay Rate $21.25/hour + $1.50/hour (Shift differential) = $22.75/hour
2nd Shift Training Schedule
- 1st 2 months of training: 7:30 am CST – 12:00 pm CST
- Months 2-3 of training: 12:00 pm CST – 8:00 pm CST
- Fully Trained (after 3 months): 4:00 pm CST – Midnight CST (last truck loaded)
- Load outgoing trucks for the following day efficiently.
- Focus on safety while ensuring the customer receives correct material in quality condition.
- Pick orders using a forklift until the order is completely filled.
- Unload common carrier trucks and railroad cars and replenish product in the designated location in the warehouse.
- Report any problems such as shortages or damaged material.
- Inquire with sales team member when orders cannot be shipped as ordered and make changes as directed by sales.
- Use handheld scanner when receiving product, picking orders, loading trucks and cycle counting in accordance with Warehouse Management System (WMS) processes.
- Collaborate with Warehouse Management System (WMS) Coordinator on questions and updates.
- Band, wrap and prepare material for safe shipping.
- Arrange orders on trucks according to safe weight distribution practices.
- Follow safety procedures and policies when performing warehouse duties.
- Fill orders for incoming customers.
- Perform routine maintenance work such as cleaning warehouses/yard.
- Inspect the forklift prior to daily operation to avoid equipment problems and malfunctions in accordance with OSHA regulations.
- Cross‑train and back‑up others in warehouse.
- Strong initiative, self‑starter with a continuous‑improvement mindset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in a cross‑functional team environment.
- Working knowledge and techniques associated with organizing and setting priorities.
- High School Diploma.
- 1‑2 years of forklift driving experience required with some experience in a distributorship preferred.
- Neat and clean appearance.
- Proven ability to work as a member of a team.
